Global Warming Protest Frozen Out by Massive Snowfall

Wednesday, March 4th, 2009

According to many sources including FoxNews.com:

“Global warming activists stormed Washington Monday for what was billed as the nation’s largest act of civil disobedience to fight climate change — only to see the nation’s capital virtually shut down by a major winter storm.

Schools and businesses were shuttered, lawmakers cancelled numerous appearances and the city came to a virtual standstill as Washington was blasted with its heaviest snowfall of the winter.

The snowy scene, with temperatures in the mid-20s, was reminiscent of a day in January 2004, when Al Gore made a major address on global warming in New York — on one of the coldest days in the city’s history.”

When will the climate change crowd acknowledge that global temperatures have been on the decline for 10 years now. Climate changes without the help or hinderance of man.

Monday, February 2nd, 2009

This just in from TThe Times UK:

The South East of England and the Pennines bore the brunt of the snowfall which began yesterday afternoon, with some of the hardest-hit areas reporting up to 1ft of snow. By the morning the heavy showers had extended as far north as southern Scotland”

Wacky weather or global COOLING…

Sea Ice Ends Year at Same Level as 1979

Monday, January 5th, 2009

From the DailyTech.com

“Thanks to a rapid rebound in recent months, global sea ice levels now equal those seen 29 years ago, when the year 1979 also drew to a close.

Earlier this year, predictions were rife that the North Pole could melt entirely in 2008. Instead, the Arctic ice saw a substantial recovery. Bill Chapman, a researcher with the UIUC’s Arctic Center, tells DailyTech this was due in part to colder temperatures in the region. Chapman says wind patterns have also been weaker this year. Strong winds can slow ice formation as well as forcing ice into warmer waters where it will melt.”

The article goes on to state that the “rate of increase from September onward is the fastest rate of change on record, either upwards or downwards. ”

Oh my! Ice age cometh…

Frigid Storm Closes California Freeways, Drops Snow in Malibu

Saturday, December 20th, 2008

Out of Los Angeles: Snow snarled major mountain highways and even dusted Malibu on Wednesday as a cold storm hit parts of California.

It was the first time in his 15 years with Metrolink that snow had caused such problems, Oaxaca said.

Transit agencies in the East have special equipment to clear tracks and otherwise handle snow but “we’re not equipped for this kind of weather on a consistent basis in this part of the world,” Oaxaca said.

Snow arrives early at Snowbird, Utah

Tuesday, November 11th, 2008

The Salt Lake Tribune writes:

“Tuesday’s snowstorm kicked off a five-day accumulation that has reached about 46 inches of snow, allowing Snowbird Ski Resort to open Friday, the second-earliest start in the resort’s 38-year history. The resort didn’t open until Nov. 28 last year. ”

Not extreme, but this illustrates that climate change is an event that occurrs over 10,000 years not 10 years.

And early snow is good for the economy. Skiers unite and get out there!

Florida breaks 150 year record for cold temperatures

Thursday, October 30th, 2008

This just is from the Star-Banner in Florida:

‘Though there was a reading of freezing or below throughout northwest Marion County, Wednesday morning’s official low temperature was 33 degrees.

It was a record for Oct. 29 and the second lowest temperature ever recorded in October since 1850. Ocala’s official weather site is at the city water treatment plant on Southeast 24th Street.

Until Wednesday, Oct. 29’s record temperature was 37 in 1943 and a close second was 38 degrees in 1957.”

We better get straight to work on containing this climate crisis. It’s global cooling everywhere !

Snow blankets London for Global Warming debate in October

Thursday, October 30th, 2008

According to the UK Register:

“Snow fell as the House of Commons debated Global Warming yesterday - the first October fall in the metropolis since 1922. The Mother of Parliaments was discussing the Mother of All Bills for the last time, in a marathon six hour session.”

“60 per cent of the British population now doubt the influence of humans on climate change, and more people than not think Global Warming won’t be as bad “as people say”

Sigh. Nevertheless they passed the bill.

Record October snow storm triggers delays in Switzerland

Thursday, October 30th, 2008

Article on SwissInfo.ch:

“According to MeteoNews, the Swiss lowlands received the most snow for any October since records began in 1931. Zurich received 20cm, beating a record of 14cm set in 1939.”

It’s going to be a cold and snowy winter.  The last 75 years of global “warming” have been wiped away in one fell swoop.

NYC Central Park High Of 59 in August Would Tie Record For Coldest August High Ever

Tuesday, August 21st, 2007

From CBS News in New York -

“If this high holds up, it will smash the previous record for the coldest high temperature for the day, which is 64 degrees, set back in 1999,” CBS 2 meteorologist Jason Cali told wcbstv.com.

“In fact, if it doesn’t warm up at all for the rest of the day, the 59-degree high would tie the record for the coldest high temperature ever for the month of August in New York City, when it reached just 59 degrees in 1911.

“Today’s highs are more common in the city for the final days of October, when the average high ranges from 59 degrees to 61 degrees.”

Only when it is unusually hot in the winter do we hear about “global warming”, but when it’s unusually cool in the summer, well that means it is unusually cool in the summer and that’s all.  Has nothing to do with climate change…

Temperatures go up and they go down.  Humans impact on climate change is negligible at best.
